Regatta & Head
Burton Regatta
First established in 1865, the Burton Regatta and Burton Head is brought to you by the Burton Regatta Association. Supported by Burton Leander Rowing Club and Trent Rowing Club.
The regatta features side-by-side racing in the classic two-boat format, creating an exciting and competitive atmosphere across the whole weekend.
Racing on Saturday takes place over a longer 1,100-metre course, starting near the Leicester Line railway bridge and finishing just short of the Ferry footbridge.
On Sunday is the exciting Burton Sprint, a short and fast 700-metre dash held on the final straight of the regatta course. Boats charge past the main enclosure, where supporters line the bank to cheer them home, creating a lively and memorable racing atmosphere.
Visitors can enjoy a variety of food and drink stalls, space for competitor camping, and evening entertainment, making the regatta a full weekend experience for athletes, families, and rowing fans alike.
